How to set up supercharger slip moment?

    hey guys
this is a question i have been battling for a while now.
how do you actually torque up the clutch on the supercharger?
do you hold the shaft with the shaft tool and tighten the rear nut until the clutch has the required torque???
any info would be great as i am sick of watching my revvs drop due to losing the slip in the clutch.

    cheers

You hold the lock nut with the shaft holding tool and then you use a torque wrench to torque the nut on the end of the shaft to 22 ft lbs. Don't forget to use red loc tite. Turning the nut tighter doesn't add more tension on the clutch. To add tension you must shim the clutch.

Here's a good how to on shimming the clutch

so if you replace all the part of the clutch and lets say you dont reach the required torque for your supercharger wheel the only way to increase the torque is to shim it?
how about if all the new part give a torque much greater than required?

also what is the recommended torque for a c-kit?

    cheers

Yes, the only way to increase the slip moment is to shim it.

On a C kit i would run 13-14 ft lbs of slip.

Can you still get everything back apart when needed if red loctite is used? I thought that the only way to get that stuff to let loose was to apply heat w/ a torch

    Thanks Gold...

one more question... does it matter what side, clutch or impeller, you spin the torque wrench on and what direction you turn that wrench?

I guess two questions... does it matter what oil to use on the washers to get accurate readings? I don't have any 4 tec motor oil yet... it's sitting on the Amsoil dock waiting for me to pickup.....
