97 Seadoo SPX oil mix ratio

OK so what i picked up and rebuilt was a 1997 seadoo spx with R&D everything you can think of and more, now that i rebuilt the motor i have about 190 compression with around .065-.068 squish ,the carbs say mikuni, but have magenta things on them that say NOVI so im guessing they are aftermarket,,I was wondering what kind of fuel mixture i should run in this ski,i would like it to be reliable and fun..Also if anyone has info on tuning this beast feel free to answer ,,thanks..

Your probably going to have to run race fuel with that compression, i run amsoil interceptor mixed 50:1

i would like some more info on this because, this ski was run for three years on pump gas before the piston blew,so i dont think race fuel is the way to go yet...any other info????

You need to run whatever ratio the oil manufacterer recommends. XPSII is 40:1. Amsoil is 50:1. There is no reason to mix Amsoil at 40:1, it's just a waste of money.

The reason it probably blew was because the internal filter screens inside the carb (on the seizing cylinder, probably the rear) became clogged. It will seize quickly when lean. If a setup runs three years without a hiccup, then it is a solid setup.

Yes, do a search. The Mikuni carb manual is available here to download.
