    RXP PTO cover assembly time...

Going to install the PTO cover to my 06 RXP motor tomorrow afternoon and, some how it looks like I am missing the washer on the bendix drive shaft. I have the two spring washers, just not the washer that goes on the very end.

Is this a washer I can get at a hardware store or is it doo specific?

2nd question- the bendix gear is still engaged to the second (closest to the block) ring gear. You know how you can pull the bendix out of place and it will wobble around, but then when you wiggle it just right (shake it baby haha) it seems to seat itself but still stay in contact with that back ring gear. Is that normal, or should the bendix gear not come in contact with the ring gear at all in its resting position??

Any other tips for re-assembly? I have the manual and am reading it!!

Should I fill with oil before dropping it in the hull? Should I fill with coolant before dropping in the hull?

the washer usually stays stuck in the pto housing and make sure its not in the magnets of flywheel. I would only use a genuine washer but want to find the old one
when resting the bendix shouldnt touch the ringear and the gear of the bendix has 2 flats that line up with the bendix shaft so be sure thats located correctly
dont put oil or coolant in till in the ski and with the plugs out pull full throttle in and crank the engine to prime the oil system.
When installing engine hang the motor in the hull and connect earth and starter leads as they are easier while rotating the engine on the hoist.

Thanks.... I put it a side due to missing washer. All the shops were closed all by the time I was ready to start the work.

I worked on the P-X instead.....

As long as he isn't paid to use that hoist I'm pretty darn sure OSHA doesn't have a dog in that fight.

Still doesn't make it a good idea, I hope that hook is in a stud at least

I will either use my muscles or Dan's belly to hold the motor up!
