    Kawasaki Ultra 150 Water Intake


    Before I take apart my pump area, can anyone tell me where the ultra 150 takes IN water to cool the engine?

    Here is a pic of the stator section of the pump. The inlet is at the 1 o clock position inside the stator. You can see the hole in the pic.

    I see...thank you! Guess this is the same type of set up for most all PWC's regardless of the make.

    Reason I was asking was because I was out this past weekend and thought one of my cyl's overheated because something possibly got caught in this intake....

    Found the head cyl that was bad, (#2), what happened was the connecting rod bearing that connects the rod to the crank failed, causing a "scraping" noise. The engine immediately died. Tried to start it, wouldn't fire but you'd hear that scraping noise. I know the Ultra's love to blow out the cases so I refused to try and start it up on the water. Got a tow in, disassembled the engine and found my cases are still in good shape. No signs of cracks or breaks. Just a new crankshaft. Luckliy the crank's warrentied.

    You might consider adding the triple pisser mod and a strainer on the cooling water inlet line.
