Ported heads how relaible ????
GUYS JUST WANTED TO KNOW how reliable are ported heads , since i have some engine damage i thinking of getting my heads done on the rxp but i ride alot during summer are there alot of problems with porting ???

It shouldn't effect reliability in a negative manner at all. All you're doing is improving how the head flows air/fuel into the combustion chamber.

i would say very little on a force air induction but on a natural aspirated system thats when a ported and polist head comes into play

i have always heard that on forced induction you benefit from the exhaust side porting the most but dont hold me too it
head porting should have no ill effect on reliability

You need all the other mods on the engine to properly take advantage of porting and polishing. Bigger cam, lighter pistons, bigger valves, exhaust header, intake and throttle body etc....... Just porting the head alone will net some gains but it will probably show itself as quicker throttle response and maybe a little better acceleration. An engine is nothing more then an air pump so improvements in air flow have to be matched to the intake and exhaust side of the equation to maximize gains. A bigger intake, cam and valves will not show the greatest improvement if the exhaust is still restrictive. You can only take in as much air as you can push out the exhaust.
