    2004 Rxp Coolant Leak!

    Hey Everyone,

When my ski sits during winter (after a month or so) I noitice a small amount of coolant at the bottom of the rubber hose, it collects in the small lower area around it. Can anyone help identify whats going on, it does not leak while running.

    Thanks,

    Danny

Its the clamp, I jsut noticed this on my ski a few days ago, and jsut replaced it today, PITA though, remove the clamp and slide it down, put on the screw type clamp on and then either cut the old clamp with cutters or bust out the dremel and a cutting wheel. Just dont cut the hose or the post. I left the other side on for now bc its not leaking but will do it when I remove the exhaust tubing when I do the rear exhaust mod. Im letting mine sit for a day and if its all dry I will put some sealant around that area.

    Thanks Boys,

I guess I will be busting out the dremel and putting a new clamp on, as far as coolant is concerned, a previous thread on changing the coolant suggested 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water,

I believe the manufactures of prestone make their coolant with a yellow color, I was in the auto buisness for twenty years and the green or yellow coolant would work. Lets not get into a discussion regarding dex-cool or like coolants stick with what works.

up the amount of distilled water to 70% and you will get better cooling
just don't store your ski in freezing temps with that kind of mix
