    Opinions on Seadoo HX

I am thinking about buying a 95 seadoo HX from a guy for $1400.

I know these skis and very unstable at low speeds and hard to get on in deep water but has anyone riden one or owned one?

Are they a fun ski? are they reliable? what problems should I look for?

    Cool

all depends, weight, upper body strength, how your balance.as for low speed handing
once you spend a little time-no problem.I can stop and talk in calm seas, trick is to put you legs straight down in the water,it helps lower your CG.lots of fun-great for jumping waves and very responsive to mods, love mine

    later cd

Great little boat but not for the big of butt.

You can mod a 717 up pretty well and keep it fairly reliable.

It is a very fun boat to ride.

It is no cruiser with little storage and pretty short range too.

I've heard a 787 swap is a great mod for these boats too

There are some out there, and at least 1 RFI.

Well I am buying it tomorrow for $1350. I want to go over it real good before I take it to the lake. This is my first sea-doo, if there anything I need to look out for? I heard the stock fuel lines are junk and I should upgrade to car fuel lines.

Check the small oil lines going to the injectors. These like to crack right under the clamps and it can be hard to detect by sight so feel up in there.

Make sure that you ride the ski for 10-15 minutes and that it doesn't overheat, leak or throw trouble codes. If the seller won't let you ride it, keep on looking. There was a post in the last few days about buying a ski that had 0 compression on one cylinder... Ron

    No codes on that beastie.

It is stone knives and bear skins compared to what they are making now.

I do not think it even has DESS.
