    RXT aftermarket grate...worth it?

    Hey guys

After some searching i found many members prefer stock grate over riva and r&d grates.

So is it really not worth it to get aftermarket grates for RXT?

I saw 69's on X-SC w/3mm Wheel, RRFPR, injectors, 4" kanaflex intake, pump wedge, stock grate, stock nozzle and 3 blades 15/19

The holeshot and acceleration is awesome!!

Getting Riva grate and reduction nozzle now..Will i get extra 2-3mile on top speed?

If you like staying hooked up a Riva grate is good. The more the pump is out of the water the more speed you lose.

Riva grate is worth it, but you need to toughen up the front bolt cause they rip off really easy(i learned that the hard way). i drilled out the front mount, and thru-bolted it with a 1" washer with lots of silacone. this will save you losing a grate(or im case a grate and it cracked the pump shoe)

On my stock RXT I really didn't feel any difference with a RIVA grate. Sold it after .2 hours of use.

you can get the girdle kit from Jerry's store, put that and the new grate together and your good to go. Theres instuctions on how it install it in the "How To" area.

The girdle kit only fits the RXP and not the RXT.
As for any difference compared to stock grate,.....it was like night and day!!! A Massive improvement and most of my riding is offshore. Glassy lakes might be a different story.

    Cheers

If there was a gain it wasn't very noticeable by seat of the pants.

Even if you don't pick up any speed It's worth it. I planed on keeping my stock grate. I trued the stock one a little to my ride plate and after about an hour of riding the grate had bent. the Riva has a lot more material and keeps the grate solid. The Riva did hang down further then the stock one though. I had to do some grinding to get it
close to the plate, but I'm still glad I got it. I rind in both the ocean and flat lake water. it for sure keeps it hooked up in rough ocean chop, and didn't really see any speed loss in the flat water.
