    Tip on Removing a Resonator

Well being in a hurry and not needing to ever use the plastic resonator ever again I didnt care if I cut it up or not. I heard of cutting it with a saw, but didnt want to have plastic shavings everywhere. I broke out my Dremel with a Roto-Zip tip and went to town. It cut thru it like a warm knife thru butter and not one piece of plastic was in the hull. The pics are hard to see but I just removed a section on the top corner and it slid right out. Hope this helps if anyone is trying to get this thing out.

Is the box empty inside or does it have plastic 'walls' for the exhaust to bounce off of?

I didn't cut mine at all to take out. Just a lot of wiggling and cussing.

For the sound, I don't like it.
I have since put in the resonated ppg power pipe; it replaced
    the run U shaped hose.

With just the resonator removed,,,,,,, it resonated a lot

Certain lower rpms and lower throttle position, it really sucked..

Now with the power pipe, a little better.. Still hard to talk over
at lower throttle positions while accelerating lightly..
Sounds pretty cool at WOT though..
The only reason I took mine out was to put in an external intercooler.

Not sure yet but im going for a rear exhaust and I had to remve the VTS unit and fix a coolant leak on that side so it was coming out anyways.

Can we juste let the resonator in place and cut a hole to get a better sound ?

You just remove the VTS and it comes right out, I think they sound better with the resonator removed, then with the Thru hull exhaust set up!!
