    Here goes another 951 X4...

I wrenched by back this morning, so instead of wrenching on the ski I thought I'd post about it. A more complete album of pix is at http://greenhulk.net/forums/album.php?albumid=166

It's intended to be a medium-budget conversion, since I already had most of the 951 stuff from a GSX-L. The parts from the XP I don't use will be auctioned off to cover some of the costs.

This started out as a running ski I bought outside of Jackson, Ms. Looked to be in OK shape, just a little rough and dirty. What I didn't see was the fracture in the hull that was covered by the trailer bunk . So, the first order of business was to strip it down and refurbish the bottom.

hey Ziggy, nice job on that hull repair. I have a little scratch right in the center of my hull that is down to the fiberglass, what do you recommend for fixing it?

Get a gel coat repair kit from Spectrum Color. Fill it, sand it, buff it. It's just that easy. If it's too wide for the patch kit, you'll need to spray it on.

Did some reinforcements on the sides to back up the sponsons. Also made some tap plates to screw the trim tabs into, since the holes were pretty buggered up.

Added an additional strap to hold the waterbox, since it will no longer be secured on the front end by the stinger.

Pump shoe needed to be opened up to the diameter of the 148mm Skat D-pump.

on a side note...that scat pump I got off of you... did that fit right up to the X-4 pump studs? I think that i need to open them up just a tad
