Advertising agencies do it all the time or graphic artists. how much do you think it would cost you to hire a photographer to shoot something like it, maybe that is an option

How are you going to print it?

A high grade inkjet is going to consume some money in terms of ink consumed, and of course if you use high quality paper, that adds to the cost.

You might be able to buy a high quality pre-printed poster or art print for similar or less money.

There are a number of crowd sourced image banks around. I have used a couple of those sites, and each image costs a few dollars.

Keep in mind that the resolution of the printed image depends on how big you print it. The image you linked to is spec'ed as
    12.5 MB / 5.53 x 8.78 in. (1658 x 2633 px)

It will produce 300dpi only when printed 8.78" wide. The same 2633 pixel image when printed 72" wide (6 feet) is only about 36dpi.

So what size would I need for a reasonably high quality poster I can frame in my basement?
I don't mind very slight pixelation but i dont want it to look "Ghetto"

I was going to use a "Large format" printing company

Ask the guys who would be doing the printing. They should know what pixel counts their equipment needs to produce a good result.

In general, the closer you get your eyes to the print, the more image resolution you will need. Something that from across the room looks quite good, may look awful when you are an arms length away, or closer.

Also keep in mind that printer dpi and source image dpi are two completely different things. The printer uses many closely spaced (overlapping, actually) ink dots to represent a single colored pixel from the source image.

Here is what I did to make a car show sign. I made it in powerpoint, saved it as a .pdf and then used this free program to blow it up.

My neighbor took the original and increased the size in this program as well and did more find tuning. I then sent it to a local poster graphics maker and he made a 24x36" dry mounted foam board with the poster I put in a frame for roughly 120.00

It would have been cheaper if I did not ask for dry mount.

If you blow it up yourself, you can also take to Kinkos and request to print in color and whatever size you need

Lots of folks sell their photos for penny's on the dollar. Companies turn around and sell them for hundreds of dollars.

I almost did, and realized that it's ridiculous to give away for pennies the rights to pictures that I love.

    Some cheaper ones are here.
