    P-X IC Tubes

Is getting rid of the OEM hose and replacing with an aluminum or silicone tube worth it? I'd like to get some nice aluminum tubes mandrel bent and then use couplers to connect.

What gauge of aluminum would be good if the project as a whole is worth it??

I'm not relocating the IC if that matters any.

    R&D has these... http://www.rd-performance.com/newPro...adoo/rxp-x.asp

I think this tubing with the r/d exhaust is still less than the riva relo kit with riva rear exhaust, but the riva relo kit might perform better...

I've used these guys in the recent past. Buy the tubes you need and have them welded. If you need custom stuff, they do that too.

I haven't messed with the SC plumbing, so I'm a novice at this stuff. Any time you replace rubber or silicon with aluminum you improve the flow charactersitics and heat transfer. Watch your hoses when you rev the engine and you can see how they expand. It takes pressure to do that, pressure that doesn't go into the intake. If your hull is well ventilated to carry off the extra heat, what flows out through the aluminum tubes is heat load your IC doesn't have to deal with. Just my $.02

    Thanks for your .2!

The silicone is supposed to be harder than the oem stuff. Hmmmmm. Prob a negligible difference.

I would have liked the aluminum tubing but just don't have the time or effort right now.

    What's everyone elses thoughts??

I just posted a question like this last week and this all it turned up but this is for a t-x. This is a very nice setup and don't cost that much to make and he said he did not need a mounting bracket for this setup. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86009

Ya, I saw that post. Nice setup, looks very clean. I'm not looking to relocate the IC though.

More looking for info on if replacing the OEM hoses is worth it. I already have the r/d exhaust which won't work with the Riva relo kit. Too many hoops to jump through once you start with the Riva stuff.

    ***Edit***

OK!!! So I'm jumping through some hoops!!
