    residue in the sc

    where is this gray residue coming from out of the sc maybe the hole in the shaft.

    Looks like a minor touch down..Pull the front cover off and look at the SC impeller blades..

    Is possible you could have a seal leaking..But from your pics it looks like Sc material..The couple of SCers I pulled apart that touched down the residue felt greasy also..I still recommend pulling the front cover..Then you will know for sure..

    pulled it off and you are right but how does this happen

    Bearings going bad allowing the shaft to move back and forth letting the Sc impellor touch the housing.....

    so does this mean i need another wheel and housing???

    Definatly A new Sc impeller..The housing dont look that bad BUT pics are deceiving...Also I would recommend getting them bearings out also.
