Power filters and octane for a Z

Aside from the price and design, any major difference in R&D's and Rivas power filter? Also, I am going to start with the power fliter, free flow exhaust, manifold upgrade and a new impeller (not sure which pitch yet) and was wondering at what point you would start to think about running higher octane fuel?

You should be fine on 87 until adding an aftermarket SC wheel.

Might want to consider adding a blow off valve if you're doing those mods. I'd hate for your SC clutch to go bad and nobody warned ya.

Seems as though we've found the weak link on the SHO engine.

I agree. I'm still running 87 in my FZR.

most people are using the riva...if I remeber correctly people were afraid of water intrusion with the R&D filter

I spoke to R&D about their air intake kit this morning and they assured me there were no problems with water ingestion. At least 8 riders used this kit in the Mark Hahn race with no water ingestion issues. They also assured me that if anyone was unhappy with the kit for any reason they would refund their money
