IJSBA Announces Recruiting for Technical Committee

March 31, 2009
The IJSBA is looking to add to the IJSBA Technical Committee.
The technical committee is a seven person standing committee which is consulted whenever a ruling question cannot be answered by using the plain text contained in the IJSBA Rule Book. The IJSBA Technical Committee is responsible for deliberating upon and suggesting rules to the IJSBA Board of Directors.
The IJSBA is expecting to modernize the Rule Book over the next coming years in a way that addresses the evolution of PWC and protects the life of contemporary technology. If you are interested in serving on the IJSBA Technical Committee then please email your resume and a short letter describing why you would make a good member of the Technical Committee.
There are currently three vacancies and appointments will be made in a way that stays consistent with global representation.
Candidates should be:
  1. Responsible. You will be under deadlines to communicate with your fellow committee members and to review and prepare documents within a specific time frame.
  2. Articulate. You will need to be able to communicate your ideas especially your positions for and against potential rule provisions.
  3. Respectful. You will need to work well with a group of people who may have differing opinions than your own. The IJSBA is an organization which seeks to foster compromise that is in the best interest of the sport as a whole. Reaching compromises and forging common ground requires respect for each other in the committee.
  4. Experienced. Candidates should be experienced and well versed in both technical knowledge and the sport of PWC racing. Candidates should also possess a deep understanding of the IJSBA Rule Book.
Please email your resume and letter, or a nomination to: [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you.
