As far as I know, there weren't differences in the GP1300r except the colors, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Personally I love the black/gold color scheme which I know was 07 and maybe 06? 08 had the blue color sceme also nice. Great ski, tons of mods for them and fast! And if you still want a 2 stroke, then that's the way to go. Otherwise if your lookin for 4 stroke I would say the FZR, but you don't want that big of a ski. If you look around tho, many FZR riders have said the ski rides like or better than a GPR and has that "curve-in" feel to them. Good luck with whatever you get!

05 and newer do not have the PV system and HP was raised slightly. The 05 and newer have 170hp and ran aboug 67-68 stock vs the previous years were more around the 65-66 MPH range. The earlier models also had carbs...while the later years went to FI ...which I maybe wrong but thing it was 03 was the first year for FI...but it could have been 04

yeah but there's no way a stock GPR is running 68 mph... 65-66 sounds a bit more accurate.

Hmm...beg to differ cause I had one and so did a few others on the boards. Mine was a bone stock 05 1300 and ran 68mph and I believe Mark Tragers Ski ran upper 68's stock or it was his friends can't remember!

But....my 05 certainly hit 68mph stock...and 73mph with the Riva stage 2 kit on it.

I never owned a stock ski for very long
The 00-02 was carbed with PV's.
The 03-04 was EFI with PV's and 2" pump extension.
The 05 and up was no PV's, exhaust changed slightly and HO Pump was added.

Not sure if you found your ski, but a local Lawrenceville, GA dealer (Jet Thrust) has a 2008 brand new 'leftover' ski for 8,400 w/ a 5-yr warranty included. Just be sure if has any recalls performed before you p/u!
