    A quick question

I am new here and was told this is where to come for Polaris info . I picked up my sltx last year for $100.00 from a shop that ws going to repair for someone after it sank next to a dock . I was told it needed a new motor , for the price I had to give it a shot . I found a motor on ebay with pump gas hot seat head for a song and a dance , and installed in the ski . I have run onto a problem , there are two small nipples in the lower cylender walls that I have no idea what they are for . Anyone have any ideas ? I was wondering if it was some sort of primer induction ?
    Any help is appreciated .
    Thanks ,
    Rick

Welcome,It sounds like you are referring to the Pulse Line ports. Can you get a picture of them,They are used sometimes for providing vacuum for fuel pumps,What carbs do you have on it?

The impuls lines are on the crank case , these are small brass connectors ,I was told I could just cap them off but would really like to know what they where there for . The ski has the stock carbs still that have been rebuilt hopefully I will not have to rejet . I know the picture of part in question is not that great but hopefully it will help .
    Thanks ,
    Rick

    Welcome to the Hulk!

Have you downloaded the Polaris Service manuals, which can be found here?
There are also Parts Manuals, with useful diagrams of where things go.

Welcome to the Hulk rcloth, you are in the right place. Good job on bringing another polaris ski back to life. These guys are great They had to be for pulse lines or extra oiling because there to low to prime the cyl. with fuel. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Welcome to Green Hulk Rick.
Those fiitings were not there from the factory. It looks like they are on the carb side of the cylinder,if so that would go into the transfer port (brings fuel from the crankcase to the combustion chamber)
I would have to guess that was for a fuel primer,(usually sprays gas into carbs to help starting, when choke plates are removed)
Usually there are primer fittings installed on all carbs(3 on a 3 cylinder) you should make sure you don't have 1 missing.

Hey K,I think he included a picture of the carbs for Keddano ( I think Keddano's idea was, aftermarket carbs or electric fuel pump)
Rick was aking about the brass fitting in picture #1,on the cylinder.

Hmmm, well that photo is rather fuzzy.

Looking again, could the fitting be tapped into the water jacket at the base of the cylinder?

The water enters on the exhaust side,in the picture I don't see the exhaust flange,I think the water will circulate around the round area just above the ridge the fitting is screwed into. The shape of the ridge also makes me think it is the "boost port".
