    Supercharger Oil Change

    Supercharger Oil Change

2007 Ultra with 84 Total Hours/ first time to change the SC oil.
Drained old oil from Drain Plug…placed a small plastic sandwich bag under the drain, unscrewed plug, oil and plug drop right into bag - no problem/ no spills.
Replaced small copper gasket on Drain Plug with new…

I already had the Exhaust Manifolds removed, so access to drain plug was OK.
Without the removal of manifold, not sure if you can get access…it was a
    ‘tight squeeze’ down there.
Total SC Oil removed was approx 100ML (a bit low apparently)
Replaced using large plunger syringe with the R&D SC Oil (blue color)

Opened up the SC just to inspect & fog, looked good, no rust, no visible contamination…
Also replaced SC Inlet/ Outlet Gaskets (Rectangle shape) while I was down there.

    Couple of observations –

1.) The old SC Oil appeared to have some ‘milky’ streaks.
    Almost appeared to be ‘collating’…
    Could that be water contamination?
2.) Despite the warning from forum about dropping nuts/bolts and tools in the bilge – I dropped my wrench when removing the SC Drain Plug.
It promptly slid underneath the oil pan (nearly had a heart attack)
Could not see or feel it – I got a coat hanger and made small hook on one end…swiped it underneath the oil pan for about 30 minutes.
Finally got the wrench to slide back up averting disaster…

little early according to the book I think its 100, some fast mechanic has my good book at the moment.

I changed my sc oil at 120hrs when swapping it out for a fresher unit and it was pefect in colour, I say you might have a water leak.

I believe it's 50 hours due I', i right? now my ski has 65 hr..I like to change it but it seams 100 hr as you mentioned is recommended..also from the above observation at 80 plus hr still I can push it to run more

my magnet is my friend. you dropped a wrench - i've dropped itty bitty sockets down the hull too many times to count.

most embarrassing was the time i dropped a screwdriver and forgot... the next time it went to the dealer, they neatly taped it to the glovebox ... with a slightly melted handle.

can somebody confirm that according to the manual, is it 100 hours before a S/C oil change?
