Damn carbs........beating my head against a wall.
Here is what I got on my ski:
R&D Rec. Head
VF Reeds, Protec Stuffer
D-Plate adn sensor
Jet Works (Cosca version)
Riva 1200 Intake Grate
Solas 13/19 prop
Stock Carbs rejetted to:
Pilots - 95
Mains - 120
Needles and Seats - 2.0
Springs - 95 g.
My initial setting was 1 1/2 turns on the highs and lows.
Air Temp: 90+ degrees
Elevation: 375 Ft. above sea level
Off idle it bogged a bit then took off like a bat out of hell then after approx. 20-30 sec. it would bog at top end. and wouldnt run over 55-60 mph, really rough chop (Memorial Day Weekend, go figure!). I have adjusted my carbs every which way I can think of and I cant get it to run right all the way through the power band.
Im to the point of sheer frustration because a Sea-Poo GTX out-ran me today
Please help a brotha out guys!
Mr. Bill can chime in and confirm it runs ok but not great!

Drop you N/S back to 1.5
No need to reinvent the wheel. Lots of succesful skis running this.

Yep, that jetting combination you have now would fuck everything up. Change it to what hydro says and you will be amazed.

Don't forget the 95 gram springs. Get her popping close to 50. Disable the accellerator pump after you put the 110's in.
I have 80 gram springs in mine now. It runs great in colder weather but has a bit of a bog (takes a long time to build rpm,s) in hotter summer weather. Mark and Joe explined this to me. They are very experienced. If you pull the butterflies go to 122.5 for the mains.
You do have F/A's don't you?

I don't see aftermarket F/a's mentioned in his list of mods

I was double checking with his list of mods flame arrestors are usually a gimmie.
You are underpropped with that head. You need to get ahold of Insanediego Joe he has a Nu-Jet Setback depitched to 13-19 and set back that will get you into the 70's.
He'll probably let it go for $100 give him a pm or anyone else thats interested for that matter. He is faced with a blown up RXP.
That impeller is good for 72 if you run an angled plate at 5 degrees and an 800 intake grate. The midrange hit is pretty cool too.

You guys are a wealth of information. Joe I'll bet you have rebuilt more engines than SBT. Mark what about your project a helluva lot more intense than my project. Probably going to be a helluva lot faster too.
