787 Caged Top End Bearing Question

If you use the caged bearings on the wrist pin, do you still need the spacers on each side of the connecting rod?

The engine that I am taking apart doesn't have them with the cage bearings. I personally think they might be needed to prevent the caged bearings from sliding on the wrist pin.
