    Spec 2 first impression

DAMN! my ski hauls ass!! I know that it was only 46 outside today with no humidity and the water was butt ass cold but my ski rips! I have

    Novi 42's
Taper bored intake to match carbs
    spec 2
    XO prop
    83/85 nozzle kit.

The hit on the bottom end is great and the top end is sweet from what i have seen, my only problem was sometimes if i got on it in the mid range it would hit the rev limiter. I have a micro touch set to 7500-7700 i was in some chop but the most i seen was 6900 but it did want to go alot faster. Im wondering if the rev limiter is junk. I bought it used like 4 years ago when i had a rossier pipe. Other than that im very pleased with the results!!

Crank up that limiter! I think i'm running 8k..as a matter of fact, I have that pin open!

You want to be around 7350-7500 rpm so go a several hundred above that, like 7800-7900.

Before you blame the MT check the water flow. Jetting is VERY important on the spec2! What jet are you running on the mid pipe (not the ecwi point) & is it in front or rear? Water box? ECWI jet & what setting is it set for to turn on/off? I found 3500 on & 6500 water off worked for me but that's on a gsx.

Finally, did you plug chop? WOT for 30-45 sec & kill it then check, but i'm sure you know that.

How's that hole shot & hook up with that rfi pump?

    Jim,

My plugs are coco brown and a little wet. The jetting in the spec 2 is 100 in the mid pipe and im using the fitting that is in front of the pipe by the oil tank, the ecwi is 110 jetting and the waterbox is 160 with a jet works valve inline to it. I don't have a rfi pump, im getting a killer deal on a 6 vein pump with prop from a buddy of mine. My MT rev controler is set right now to 7500-7900. Im thinking since it was choppy out there yesterday that the pump came unhooked a couple times and that's why i was hitting the rev? i have a stock intake grate and i have heard that i should use an aftermarket for the xo.

    rev limiter 7500-7900?

It's one or the other. make it 7900.

You got the real mans skat & not the poor man's 'eh?..

Wet coco plugs are better than dry white ones! Is this an X4 hull?

Oh man! There's your problem then. 83/85 nozzles are choking you. 85/88 is what you need for the stock pump. 83/85 for large hub pumps.
