    Black Gelcoat

anyone have an Idea of were I can get black gelcoat?? The black pigment just makes gray. I dont think paint will hold up to my constant grounding as I run in shallow water and the sand just wears it off

Are you wanting to do scratch repair or are you doing the whole bottom?

Gelcoat International wants $90 a quart and JD $35.68 Not much of a choice really JD has the 6' Keel Guard for $113 cheaper than Parts Unlimited

All gel coat is not created equal. The JD stuff may be OK, but I went cheap once and ended up with black that was a bit chalky and hard to buff out to a really good shine. I've been using Spectrum color (who's not cheap BTW) and have had good results. Don't forget the PVA.

PEST, I've installed and run a keel guard on a xpl before, it will knock your top speed all crazy, and since the xpl is a deep v hull its a royal pain to install and make stick correctly, don't in my opinion.
