Exclamation New owner of a Ultra 150

Just bought a 2000 Kawasaki Ultra 150 my buddy has a ultra 250 that he just purchased and i hate loosing. If money was not an issue what is a list of things i can do to this ultra to make it out perform any ski on the water pushing speeds over 80mph? I have been reading a lot about the ultra 150's and have come up with a lot but want to hear from the people. Thanks!

    Welcome to the Green Hulk.

There has only been 1 Ultra 150 that I have seen in the 80 mph neighborhood, and honestly, it would cost more than it's worth to get there. Even if you could get those speeds, your buddy is still going to kill you in any kind of chop.

Without tripple pipes the best mph you expect is around 70 mph. With tripples, 75 mph is realistic.

If you want to see over 80 mph get a GPR.

yeah axgrider is right, i have a 2000 ultra 150 as well with 44 hours that i just purchased. triple pipes alone are $2,600 and your machine will be pretty unreliable with those on there. a Gp1300r would reach 80 mph with some mods, its just a little more money. than again with only a few mods your ultra 150 could beat your friend on flat water. good luck in chop though.

but to correctly answer your question here is the only ultra 150 i have ever seen to hit 80mph, he lists what he has installed on his ski in the video.

If your friends 250 is stock You can do a few mods and outrun him in flat water but in the chop your dead meat. If he starts modding it then tripples may be your only hope. On a otherwise stock motor those will get you mid 70s if your setup is otherwise good. A good setup on a level 1 can get you to 70. Check out the 2 threads in my sig, that may give you some ideas. Go do some reading on this link for even more ultra info.

the websites i've read say a stage one kit can get the ultra 250x pushing like 73mph. im not sure if there is a stage two kit. but the stage one kit is a ton of money. the kawasaki ultra 250x is probably the best rough water jet ski. It will beat most jet ski's out of the hole because of its 250hp. if you do some mods to your ultra150 you will be in good shape against the 250x in flat water. but no matter what i think the ultra 250x will beat the ultra 150 in chop. it just has the ideal hull design for it.
