    Hull Repair

A big wave from a barge plowed into the back of me when i was recovering the ski yesterday and did this to my hull when it smacked the trailer.

    What should i do?

i saw that....that sucks...my friends all want to ride my ski but i said only if they use the learning key, but now i'm not even sure if i'm going to let them on it.

How can i fix the ding in the hull? The gelcoat isn't cracked. Just the gouge right there.

If it were me I would probably have a professional take care of it,
but there are plenty of hull repair articles here on the Hulk.
Use your search tool with the words "gel coat repair."

needs to be filled properly with marine tex, sanded down and gelcoated.
you might be able to fill it with just gelcoat also.
you can probalby get away with a gelocat repair kit. they are like 25 bux or so, form www.gelcote.com or the other place i forget the name.
read up on proper prep and gelcoat techniques, its not that hard. that little ding is not the type of damage that is delamination prone, however you do want to repair properly to seal out ALL water.
a shop might do it for ya , not too much money, its pretty small, and wont take more than 1 hr work time. you dont need it to be invisible repair, just good enough to seal tight.

Yeah that's the fist thing I thought about, delamination...

Koala, you might want to do a search about that here too,
if water gets inside that gel coat layer you are screwed, it
can make your entire hull surface peel back like a banana, then
you are looking a major repair for sure. Here's a link:
