GIANT WALL on Florida's Turnpike???
Has anyone noticed this GIANT WALL going up on Florida's Turnpike?
This sucker is like 25 or 30 feet tall it goes on for miles and miles.
It looks like painted concrete, it has palmettos and birds embossed into the surface like a theme park or something.
I guess it's a "sound buffer" for the tiny number of homes that border the road, but it seems like a HUGE government waste to me? Kind of makes you wonder, in a day and age when we are borrowing money from China and all. Come to think of it, China has a GIANT WALL too!
They are installing the GIANT WALL on both sides of the road here in Central Florida, it looks like Jurassic Park or something. They are tearing down and burning miles of natural green buffer, including mature trees and green belt in order to make room for the GIANT WALL. The mess is unbelievable, and the smoke from the burning trees can be seen for miles. Driving between these walls, I am wondering if it will lead to tunnel vision, because you can't see any landmarks or scenery!
I am also wondering how many millions they are spending on this stupid thing and how many employees it will take annually to maintain the GIANT WALL and keep the grafitti off the painted surface when it's done. I can't seem to find a lot on the internet about it, but I can see a giant new wing of government being established just to take care of this stupid wall.
One more thought; if you count the small number of homes that border the Turnpike, what does the cost for all this come out to per home? In other words, why are our tax dollars paying for the sound buffer for this small number of homes?

no you just can't see anything until you're underneath it.
