1st Oil Change before 10 hours?
I'm wondering how many of you perform the 1st oil change on a new ski, before hitting the 10 hour maintenance mark. I'm about 4.5 hours into the break-in on a new '08 RXT 215. Several of the more experienced posters have recommended changing the oil before 10 hours, some even recommended changing after 1 hour. Is this critical to life of the ski? Should I be changing mine now, and then again at 10 hours?

I pull the dipstick after every ride during break in. When the oil starts to turn dark it's time to change it. I usually wait til 10+ hours.

I would say it's your choice but at 4.5 hours, you already have metal in the oil. I did mine at 6 and 16 hours and will be doing another one at 40 in 2 more hours.

changed oil and filter before it clicked over to 2 hours in mine. whenever I build a car engine the oil is changed the first time after 20-30 minutes of run time, before it hits the road...

Changing the oil before 10 hours is a waste of time and money. I would wait for 10 plus hours.
