rebuild or clean carbs
Rebuilding a 1200r 66v engine that has not run since late 2004. Piston skirt broke doing severe damage to engine. question i have is can i just take carbs apart and clean? or do a need to put kits in? I have cleaned my super jet carb before and was able to salvage gaskets, etc. Any one done this? Where is the best place to get carb kits for this engine? I was looking on parker yamaha website and couldnt find a carb kit for this engine? any suggestions? What carb kit does it take?

Carb Rebuild Rejet Assembly
yup, rebuild them, clean them thoroughly and replace any gaskets in doubt.
If they have never been replaced, now is a good time.
Here are some good links on dissasembling them. Thanks to Fercho & Cajundude

Also check out RIVA, Parker Yamaha, Island Racing, GroupK, Jims PWC Performance, Atlantic Jetsports and Ebay for carb parts. I'm sure there are others
