Starter question on 04 XLT 1200

My question is the starter makes a clicking sound when tring to start. It does this several times then it will work fine for a while. Then it repeats this every so often. I know the battery is good. So I would like to replace the starter. Do I have to pull the motor? I know it is under the exhaust manifold, but can I get it with out removing the manifold? I don't mind removing all the other exhaust related stuff for working room.

    Thanks for any help

You dont have to pull the motor or manifold. Its a tough reach but not a hard job.
