Skat Trak Pump Lock up
When installing a new impeller in a new skat trak 162mm pump, it seems to lock up when torqued to 90ft lbs. The impeller will not spin freely, I think it should turn by hand after being torqed, but this does not happen. Any ideas or help, or should it be this tight.

Can you tell where its binding? I had a untouched skat prop recently that the trailing edge of the prop was hitting the pump. I diddnt mess with it much but I sold it to a friend of mine who I think is planning on taking a little off the trailing edge of the blades until it doesnt touch. This was with a stock pump though.

Your impeler might be too big for your pump, but remember on new pumps there is always going to be hard resistance when spinning the prop because the bearings are brand new so if it spins but you dont feel like it is touching on the sidewall you are fine.

It sounds like the prop is hitting the pump hub.I think there is something wrong with the impeller.

The bearings in the pump are not in the correct position. Brian and Tim at Purr Performance are fixing it. Thanks for all the input.
