carb settings for 1200 w/1300 cyl and riva stage 2

Hello all. I am in need of assistance with a small project. I'm building a ski for a customer/friend and need help on the carb settings. What we have is a 2004 xl1200 with 1300 cyl. and Riva stage 2 (60T head) parts minus jet cone, sponsons and free flow exhaust (no longer in production). This is a complete rebuild with all new yamaha parts. The only thing reused were the cases.

I was also leaning towards the accel pump delete ideal please let me know what you think.

I know this has been done before and is on here some where but I'm kinda in a hurry and don't have time right now to sort through it all, so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    Nick

Nick, i working on jetting for my xlt 1200 with 1300 cylinders, and R&D head, I have it jetted now with 110pilot LS 1 turn out, 125 main 1 3/4 turn out, 95g spring, 1.5 needle, 40-1 premix, I ran 2 tanks with this setup 0 to 1/4 throttle rich 1/4 to WOT good, very strong, I dont like to premix, with the smoke and the mess so Im put back the injection pump, acclerator pump, and jetted just a little richer at idle then stock and 125 mains, I havent tried this setup yet and Im going to be away all next week, but if the weather is good tomarrow my try it, Ill let you know how it turns out, let me know what jetting you end up with

IF you are using FAs or if you have removed all of the OEM black plastic intake sound suppression parts I think at 110 / 125 with 1300 cylinders and a head is too low on the jetting - that is jetting that is commonly used on 1200s

As a minimum I would suggest you should be 115 /125

If it was my ski I would be at least 115 /130 (or even 120 /130 as I suggest above)

my preference is to get the pilot jet larger (while still having the motor run cleanly in the low and mid) this way in the mid range where these carbs tend to run too lean you are giving the motor as much fuel as you can

and again, at 110 / 125 I don't think combined they will provide as much fuel at WOT as is ideal

With my Novi's and this jetting
    Pilot 120
    Main 135
    N/S 2.3
    115 spring
    95 restrictor jet

    This jetting provides 120 + 135 = 255 at WOT

    Choke's and accelerator pump removed
    2.0 N&S, Gold 115gr spring
    115 pilots, 1 turn out
    130 mains, 1.25 turns out
Dual fuel feed, removed fuel selector valve, returns drilled and 95 jet in return to tank line.
