    Securing a cooler

What's a good way to mount or secure a cooler? I'm sure it's in this forum somewhere, but searching on "cooler" brings up endless posts about intercoolers. Thanks

Depends on how big the cooler is? Some have built racks, but I use tie downs, one that goes around the cooler and through the tow hook and another one that hooks under the lip of the top deck. Been dooing it this way for years and never had a problem.

Here's how I doo it. Of course, this is with the RXT-X so your needs may be different. The gray caps come off and then it will hold fishing rods also.

I take a tie down and secure the cooler closed. and wrap the excess strap around the cooler. Don't want the cooler falling off and spilling the precious cargo.

Then use bungee straps to loop around the cooler to the ski-hook. (Plastic Hooks, not metal)

BTW Goat, your rack came out nice. I'm working on rack #2 now and maybe painted next week. You used something called Fusion prior to painting? Are you pleased w/the paint job? (Looks good from here...)

Yeah, I bought it at wal-mart of all places. Not too many color choices but it sticks like glue and dry's to the touch in 15 minutes. Real happy. Just let it cure a couple of days before using it.

259.95? Daaaaaayumm!! Can't see how it's secured to the ski. A little on the pricey side. I'll stick with my 75 dollar tinkertoy!

I'll agree w/you Goat; besides - where does the two extra 5 gallon tanks of gas go that I'll be carrying?
