    Head temps with triples??

Anyone use a tach with head temp probe? (the one that goes under the spark plug) If so I need to know what the head temp runs with triples. My setup is running 240 to 260, on the single piper it runs 200 to 230. I'm just scared that's to hot for 65 deg lake water.
    Thanks for any help
    Mike

WOW I'm glad I was worried about the head temp. I was running it on the hose today and found cyl 3 hotter than 1 and 2, removed the input water line and found very little water going to the head. I found the water line was bent in half at the water block ass. I'm glad I didn't ride it.

Mikey, I check my singles with a heat gun, and they run around 200-220

just a thought for good measure. my tripple pipe has 6 water pissers on the back of my ski where i can visually see them while riding. i have one for each head and one for each pipe and keep them in order so if one has a low stream or no water then i know which pipe or head to look at. Makes a big difference and you always know if your getting water.
Have to thank Kevin (water woody) for that. He told me a good setup.

Most of the racers running triples read temp at the exhaust flange, this allowed them to adjust fuel ratio properly.

I have 5 pissers. I did 3 in the rear for the pipes and 2 for the head up front where the stockers are. I am using the stock shaved head.

The three pissers on the head are mainly used for aftermarket applications. One pisser for each cyl. These heads are o-ringed, 3 seperate heads.

i have 3 piece heads and if i ran 2 out then id never know if the two connected if either one was not gettin water cause one could stop up and other head be flowing and still getting out of pisser so i think 3 is safer.
sorry if off subject reguarding heat temps but thought it might help for future.
pm bren he might know the temp.

So are we reading water temp or EGT? cause you can have the coldest water flowing cleanly through those heads and if your EGT is too high from leaning it out you will fry a cylinder.
