Plate for cc racing
I need more speed, going to participate in my first cc race in about two weeks. I`ve got a gpr 1300-04. Can I use the Jims plate if there is no wind only the other racers wakes and how is it to turn with? Will it also improve my holeshoot compared with my stock plate that I ride now? Went riding today 1.5 foot chop 63mph with skat 13/19 going to swich back to my skat 14/20 as I didnt notice any better acceleration with the 13/19. My other mods are:
R&D intake 2 bar
Riva/Boysen reed stuffers
Pro tech milled head (150 psi)
Fercos jetworks mod
Riva autodrop nozzle

Stock plate IS your best bet. You will get a faster holeshot with an aftermarket plate, but you will bounce more.
Smooth water HANDLING testing is pretty worthless on a race course.
Good luck man!!! Let us know how it turns out.

Oh yeah, make sure your autodrop nozzle isn't adjusted too tight, or when you come over the top of a 3foot wave the ski will noseplant in sideways...not pretty.

Ok thanks Mark. This season is mostly for trying out anyway. If it goes ok and I like it I`m gonna go for it 100% (read new ski+lots of mods) next season. I set up my auto drop (that I bought of Jay on this forum, great guy!) neutral to the 3* nozzle, think that is ok. I suppose the next thing before porting and trippels is Fercos reeds then?

On the auto drop, I'm talking about the 2 side post. Don't have it dropping too soon. Let the bars turn a bit before it drops the nozzle.

It doesn`t drop untill the stering pass 1/3 of the way. That should be alright? Have rode with it for 4 hours now with no problem. Loving it, ski is very planted going around the bouys, just me having a hard time hanging on

That's the ticket.
You need some side lifter wedges.

the problem I found with the 14/20 was on a tight course it doesnt pull out of the turns as well as a 13/19 depitched from a 14/20.

It was sort of a "recovery time" issue wasn't it? The 13/19 spins up quicker.

yeah...it would kinda crawl around the corners and by the time I made it to the next turn I was already letting off the throttle and started all over again. It kinda sucked really.
