    SL Gas tank sender

Are all the fuel tanks / senders interchangable for the pre 1995 SLs?

I have an old style one (the one that is not part of the aluminum pick-up tube) that needs replacement. I have been looking on ebay and have found some from 92,93,94,etc.

When I look up the part # on the microfiche, it lists a different part number for every year. I think they are the same, but I want to make 100% sure before I purchase one. I am assuming that Polaris made a small update each year and that accounts for different part numbers .

I am no pro at this but, I have two 95 SL 750 and I have been getting parts from a 94 SL and I am not sure but they dont look the same from a 94 to a 95.. There was a brand new one on Ebay but I am pretty sure that sold it's been awhile but I will go back and see if that seller has any more but I am sure some one on here will have one.. Check these threads out.. Cya Slick

Rob, the 92 and 93 model years used a different elec box., so the connectors are different. Hence the diff part #'s. You can splice the wires if you want.

A 94 sender will work fine. I happen to have one if you're interested $10 plus ship

What's wrong with yours though? Mine had the wire come off, so I re-installed it, then soldered it and all is good.

yah, on my other 1994 the wire came loose, so I soldered it. On this one, one of the wires on the winding came loose and snagged the slider. The slider then managed to pull on the wire and pull it from the winding. Now every time the slider passes over that wire it gets stuck. It isn't very repairable.

    OK.

Well, I got one and see Cubsfan has one also.

So, if you can't find a good one, give one of us a PM.
