To be quite honest, I would go with if it were my 701

    1. Head- Increase comperssion to 185 PSI "assuming you have good gas and want to run the higher octane". This can be via an aftermarket head and or the stock one milled down.

    2. After market F/A "air filter and adapter" unless your jumping waves and surf riding then stick with stock.

    3. Prop- Something like a 13/17 Solas or an "I" prop if you going to put a pipe on it. The 13/17 has a lot of bottom end power and can always be pitched up.

    4. Pro-tec Shortie ride plate if you want more top end power.

    5. Cut your stock intake grate "Center bars out"....as long as your not riding in too much choppy waters.

    6. Reeds add a little throttle response....

    7. Exhuast if you can find one....I would go with the Factory pipe if you can find it....

    8. Exhuast if you can find one....I would go with the Factory pipe if you can find it....

    9. Add dual 44's which you can get from any GP760 etc...."rebuild them completely if you buy used"

If you can find a Factory MOD pipe and do those things other then porting...you will get around 57-58mph. If you did porting....low 60's

now, if he were to be doing this in a 94 hull, than the mph would be a little bit higher.

Nope....this is with the purple hull. I did everything under the sun other then porting and mine ran 57-58 MPH and was a purple hull. I had carbs, head, prop, reeds, reed stuffers, dual cooling, Solas I prop, Riva Mainfold etc
