    Free flow exhaust for FZS

    Hi Everyone,

Could someone comment on the sound quality and volume/noise difference between the stock exhaust and the free flow. I saw a video someone posted on their free flow on the sho but its tough to tell as it is out of water.

I am open to a bit more volume but do not want anything to drive the neighbors crazy.

    Thanks for the input.

I find it relatively quiet... compared to my other skis

I was actually a bit disappointed that it wasn't louder. It does have a drone down below 4000 RPM but I don't ride at those speeds anyway. I cruise at least 5000 RPM.

Rip N Tear posted videos of his with the exhaust installed somewhere. I'm sure he'll chime in here soon and post up the link.

The free flow exhaust leaves the ski sounding like a hair dryer. If you want a decent noise out of it (or to annoy your neighbours), you need to take the internals out of the waterbox. Then they sound good. Find a good local alluminium welder first though

You can hear the launch up close and hear it pulling away...

You can hear some of the low speed sounds and growls on this one........then wind noise takes over...

this one you can hear the famous 'drone' as I'm approaching the turn....lots of fun for your eardrums..esp at bridges.....

and this is Jerry's monster.....crank the volume on this one.....this ski sounds amazing...and is completely addictive like crackrock!! how fast have you taken the beast now Jerry?

I've since lightened my waterbox so the ski is even louder now.....ur tolerance increases the more u ride and r submitted to the noise.....I think that's deafness settling in!!

Why? I've cut mine. What are the drawbacks. I've not had any problems or noticed any difference yet, other than it sounds v nice n loud!

I haven't had to capsize it to unblock the intake grate yet though?

did you cut it completely off?? if so your box will fill with water...as the exhaust is watercooled...

No, not completely, just opened it up to give the biggest exit area possible. I was led to believe the exhaust pressure would throw the water out of the exit pipe. If I get any problems, I'll cut it open again and put some pipe back in it. So far so good though

    Sounds good!
