    SBT Remanufactured Motors -

    Hey guys,

I am looking to get a used motor and came across this SBT place that for your old core plus $2,300.00 USD, they will send me a refurbished motor with all new internal parts.

Does anybody have any experience with this company and/or an opinion?

    Really appreciated guys.

SBT needs to provide a list of what they don't provide. It appears to be a short block with no electrics/electronics. No oil pumps, covers, etc... Ron

    King of Fun -

True, but you don't have to send your motor (core) back for two weeks. So I assume (according to the text in their site) that you take those parts off of your old motor, and place them on the new (refurbished) motor.

All I know is I may be forced to get one. I am running out of viable options and they do offer a one year no fault warrenty. I am hoping more people will chime in on their experience with this particular company.

I've heard that they install cast pistons instead of forged. Not good for supercharged applications. I haven't heard anything good about their motors so far.

    thanks

Thank you guys, I have completely disregarded that idea entirely. I am now looking for private sellers with motors with less than 50 hrs.

    Your insight is appreciated.

I sure am glad I read forums. At a glance from all of the stuff on their site (and PWCToday) you would think they are great. Not.

What are the alternatives for 2 and 4 cycles? I will be wanting a SHO short block next year probably.

Personally... I go used and rebuild it myself with OEM parts! At least when your done... you'll know what you have I have heard and seen nothing but horror stories with SBT... they do have great marketing though... but thats about it
