    FZR Shakes & Rattles

When I took my FZR out the last time, I noticed a bad rattle with the Display Gauges at moderate RPM and when going over wakes. So I came up with a possible solution to fix the rattle. I used these sticky cushions that normally go on the bottom of a chair when you don't want to cut up your floors in your house. It puts extra pressure on the plastic gauge to keep it from rattling. I may double up and put two for a real good fit. I made sure the screws were tight, but the were. So the rattle is just from a poor fit from Yamaha. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this on their FZR or FZS. I did not notice it for the 1st few hours, because I was focused on the great ride and could not stop smiling.

So this is my second MOD (Turning off the Spray was my first). Let me get the GPS out to see if I am faster now

    Turn-Off Spray: $6.01
    Stop Gauge Rattle: $0.58

Are those the self adhesive felt wool pads?

They might absorb water. Let us know how they work out over time.

They are partial felt. I ran them through rigorous testing in my facilities (kitchen). I ran the water in the sink on high for 30 seconds and then tried to squeeze water out. And very little water came out. I don't plan to have that area of the boat get constant water, so I think they should be good.

I also dropped them in a glass of water to see what would happen. The item floated and did not absorb much water over a 15 minute period. But I will report back any long term results

I guess you could soak them with silicone spray also to help keep the water out. Then you can spray the rest on the bunks to help the ski slide on easier.
