    Engine Oil question

So I have the 717cc 2 stoke in my 2002 GTi. I noticed that there is an oil line going to the bottom of the crank case. Does this engine set up have the oil first moving through the crank to lubricate it and then moving to the cylinder to be burned?
If so, I have drained all the oil out of my engine do to some repairs, do I need to prime the engine somehow to make sure the crank gets the oil it needs right away?
I hope my questions are clear. let me know.

The 717 has a shaft for the rotary valve that is driven off the crank by a gear.

The line you see (and the other that goes in under the exhaust manifold) provide an oil bath for the rotary valve shaft.

You DO need to pour oil into the upper line (under exhaust) until it runs about half way up both lines.

The crank is lubed by oil injected into the fuel stream in basic two-stroke fashion.
