    2002 seadoo LRV

    hi guys

i just bought a seadoo LRV DI and it has a blown engine it sank in the water and the water went inside of the engine and it rusted cause the it sank in salt water
i would like to know ur thoughts on what should i do ?

    i have 2 options
    1- rebuild the DI engine
2- i have a complete spare 951 carb engine i took out from my old GTX limited i can install it on the ski with the electric and every thing.

what should i do and if i choose to rebuild the DI engine what should i rebuild excatly since its my first ? and what should i look on and check in the DI system ?

i know regarding the engine how to rebuild it im going to changet he crank and pistons and the sleeves but what else should i look for and check

    thanks

I would worry more about the electronics and wiring harness if it sank in salt water and wasn't flushed with clean water... Ron

I've seen more people having trouble with DIs than carbed engines - if you can keep the exhaust from leaking water into the carbs. At least with a carbed engine, you can work on it yourself. If there's a problem with a DI, it needs to go to a dealer. At least the DI is easier to work on than the RFI engines... Ron

Have you considered putting a 4-Tec conversion motor in it?

Another Green Hulk member put a 4-Tec motor into a Yamaha SUV hull, which is a similarly large hull.

Good speed results, much faster than the stock motor.

And probably much longer engine life, given the heavy load on the stock 2-stroke motor.
