I just used a coping saw I had lying around. Then used a rat tail file and some sandpaper to smooth it down some.

Only if you're running a wedge. Gain is minimal but worthwhile.

In having a pump extension, is it reasonable to conclude that you need to take off more from the bucket? ( is more better?)

Are you saying don't waste your time if you're not running a wedge?

Wouldn't mind that... cause i'm not running a wedge and I really hate grinding on plastic... pet peeve of mine.

The bucket only needs to be modified if it is interfering with the steering nozzle water flow... you can just look at it and see if it needs to be cut back or not.

If it is cut back... you will notice your reverse responce is totally different
