EAST COAST "CHARLESTON, S.C." GET-TOGETHER INFO:
Is anyone interested in getting together for a Mudbug type gathering late this summer for those of us who couldn't make the trip to LA this year? I know the 16+ hour drive kept me from going, and there have been a few people asking if anyone would be doing anything like it in other areas.
I was thinking something that riders from AL, TN, GA, and the Carolinas could get to easy. If others are interested, I'm all for helping to plan things out. Just looking at the map, a place that comes to mind is Lake Sidney Lanier NE of Atlanta; big lake, lots of places to stay nearby, home to the largest marina in the US. If anyone rides there, or has other suggestions, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Everyone put your 2 cents in; if there is interest, lets start planning something.

Lake Lanier is real crowded. I'm 2 hour from there on Lake Keowee, SC. Fountain Folks have been here but if it went large I'd think we would have to get permitted. Jocassee is a pristine mountain lake about 1/2 hour away but it's Army Corps of Engineers rules and might be more difficult. No hotels but great camping. I'll inquire of the rangers when I get back from The Bug if you'd like as to the feasability.

Abbot, I knew I could count on you, and I'm looking forward to riding with you soon homeboy.
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not looking at camping over a weekend while I'm riding a lot. I'm thinking nice hotel room, some decent food, and places to get a drink. I figured Lanier might be crowded, but wanted to hear from someone who goes there a lot to see if parts of it might be ok. I was also looking at Hartwell Lake on the GA/SC line, as well as Clark Hill Lake south of there. Anyone been there?
And of course there is Charleston here; great city, lots of river and canal stretches to ride on, Lakes Marion and Moultrie right to the north, plus the beach area. We could probably get a good stretch of canal to ourselves if we tried, call it The Gator Nationals or something. We do need to do something maybe Mid August or around there.

Tennessee(Norris Lake) would be a good place, or cumberland lake in Kentucky

Charleston would be Great. Ther is always good open places to ride in the Rivers and Canals and always beach betties around somewhere.
Ive got 2 people and 2 skis coming, I will check w/ some others in my area that are not on the boards to see if they are interested.
