    Remapping(reflashing) vs Programable ECU

ok......i do get the difference what a total programmable ecu with pc interface does and what it has to offer...........(damn it was so much easier back in the days of carbs and no ecu hehe) and reading Todd's post about his programmable ecu IS straight forward............and i get it..NOOB's may not

however..for the NOT so TECHNICAL minded.........

please explain what they are offering here in the 4-Tec parts area about

    1. reflashing any stock ECU and stock injectors to to a higher RPM @$590

    2. reflashing for 50 lb injectors AND/or 60 lb injectors with user [email protected]$890

    3. rev limiter change to stock [email protected]$250

    4. custom [email protected]$250

what will be the benfits of each?
    -mph increase?
    -better low end?
    -better mid-range?
-improvement and decrease in gas milage?

    thanks

Reflashing with known combination is easy to replicate, and a good service to hava available.

Trouble with Programmable ECU's is that if you dont have the knowledge, and if the ECU is not upto the job, you can and probally WILL f..k something up and have wasted your money!

Anybody that believes that a fully unlocked programmable ECU is a good thing to play with for the uneducated person is kidding them self.

only bad things can come from it,

I have seen guy's that have been calibrating engines for some of the biggest motorsport teams in AUSTRALIAN motorsport, some even to world engines, They still can make mistakes and they have a full understanding and still get it wrong from time to time,

My choice would and will be!
BUY the MOTEC ECU kit when it comes out,
If you need to modify it at a later date, get a professional to do it!

Spend it once and dont worry aboutit again, and enjoy OEM drivability and reliability that motec will offer, anything less is a compromise.
