    STX Sterring Nozzle questions??

Iv'e posted this same question on another forum & so far have got -0- responses. (i guess if you don't have a stand-up... your questions go unanwsered) What are the 2 brass cylinders for that are attached to the top & botton of the inside nozzles on my STXs for? They hold nothing together & nothing is attached to them. It looks like they would cause alot of drag? Also why does the nozzles have the lip on the bottom of them, is this to aid in reversing w/the reverse bucket? This looks like they would act as a parachute...cutting your speed down. Any anwsers & explanations would be much appreciated. thanks

They do nothing and I would remove them. If anything it's to help remove the nozzle. I think a special tool grabs it. We removed them on the zxi's

What to do with the holes left by removing them? leave them,...or fill them? If fill them, then with what?

What year is that? I just wonder if they are comparable to the metal nozzle of the 15f or 12f. I haven't seen one like that before.

The exit nozzle is the same and the other steering nozzles should fit from what I have found as a zxi nozzle with fit on my ski....steering and exit.

You could fill them with that weld putty. 5 mins done..!!

The one pictured is a 2000 900stx, but next to it is a 98 1100 stx w/the same setup.

Makes sense as I had a '96 900 zxi and then went straight to a '04 15f and they were both the metal. I guess they tried the plastic and went back. It is a pretty odd setup but it wasn't the speed ski so they didn't think people would mind things getting in the way. I would look for used pump parts off of one with metal parts and switch it out if it fits.
