Long Distant Ride on new FX SHO CRuiser

Hey, what do you guys think of me taking my new FX SHO Cruiser out for a 160 mile round trip after a couple of hours of break in. Will it be ok to run it this far without the first 10hr service. Paid good money for the ski, want to keep it running right when I do get to ride.. I have 0hrs on it now, but when I start this long ride, I hope to have at least a couple of hours on it...Thanks!!

do you have any mile per gallon ratio of the SHO at WOT?

At WOT Per manual I have never ran WOT for an hour...
    ~18 gallons = 1 hour
    ~65-68 mph
    ~65-68 miles

I'd spend an hour or 2 doing a proper break-in before setting off on a 160 mile ride where throttle variation may not change much.

And, make sure you have the right safety (and communication) equipment.
We don't want to hear about you on the news.

I'd change the oil and filter after a couple of hours of break-in before going out for the 160 mile run. Better to be safe and go for that cruise with clean oil!

make sure you get a couple hours on if before the cruise, if a coolant hose is gonna come off then it will do so then and not on your 160 mile ride. I have had 2 new yamaha skis pop a coolant hose on their first or second ride.

just wait bro, get at least 8 hours on it, safety is always first... then go like crazy, we routinely do 120 mile tours and more... love doing it, you will also want to ride at a speed when you can enjoy what is going by on a tour, its not about gettingthere and back, its aboutthe journey.. stay around 35 and you will enjoy it and save a lot of fuel!
