    04 RXP oil pressure

Hi I have an 04 RXP it idles fine and goes flat out fine but when the rpms get to a steady 4000 to 5000 rps the ski goes into limp mode and oil appears on the dash..........It has done 94 hours and i have replaced the oil pressure sensor switch.

any advise would be greatly appreciated
    kind regards

You really need to check the oil pressure. There's a test plug on the oil filter canister that you can remove and screw in an oil pressure guage. Just remove the plug and take it to an autoparts store to get the right threads... Ron

With the engine warm, the oil pressure should be between 58-72 psi at 4000-7500 rpms. Low oil pressure can be caused by worn oil pump(s), worn bearings, worn/defective oil pressure regulator spring/seal... Ron

thanks for all your help so far .... The motor was rebuilt at 84 hours due to dropping a valve and i have been speaking to the people that rebuilt it and they insist that there is a common fault with sea doo pressure sensor swithches and has advised me to buy a new one that has just been released. im not sure as this would be the 4th switch and i dont want to blow up the motor again. Once again i am grateful for your help so far but now i am confused.

If there was a problem with the switches, more people would post about it here. BTW, my '03 had the 2 switches replaced in '04 under warranty and that was when the switches were changed... Ron
