    Cam Gear ???

Why does the manual show the gear with the key hole opposite the 1503 marks and the actual gear has the key hole on the same side as the 1503?

Steve... I was perplexed by this also, and discovered that the '03-'04 engines have a gear with one timing pin hole for the timing pin, while '04+ engines have two holes located across from each other (I have no idea why unless BRP was striving for symmetry ). They probably didn't feel the need to update the picture.

Steve... I now see that you are referring to the keyhole in the center of the sprocket. Hmmm... some graphic artist at BRP must have had a hang-over that day.

    Good catch!
