xpl exhaust exit sealer
I am installing the 98 exhaust on my 2002. My question is do i use a sealer on the threads of the thru hull fitting (exit)? If so what should i use?

I've never used anything on the threads, but I do like to use RTV on the seals for extra insurance.

There should be a washer and a gasket just prior to the big nut. #20 & #28
As mentioned above, I would use silicone if you want some reassurance

Thanks. I actually have an extra washer from a parted ski, i was going to use one on the inside and one on the outside of the hull. Just wasn't sure if the water would travel down the threads or not.

I wouldn't think so. Isn't the sealing surface on the outside anyway?

The fitting he's using has a flange & seal on the inside. Since you've sealed the fitting at the flange and also against the hull, there's no place for the water to go even if it did go down the threads.
