Goin to look at a 96 xp
I'm goin to look at a 96 xp 800 with trailer. It looks to be in good condition. He says it runs good. However, he told me that the fuel gauge is not working, and that the trim system will not operate.
He is asking 1000, and I can already tell that he is not going to budge on the price. I don't really need another ski, but this seems like a good deal for a second unit and/or backup.

sounds like an ok deal... I would check to see if the ski runs first though.. It would be an expencive repair job if the crank had issues..

Fuel gauge is an easy fix as long as the gauge is good, and the VTS may not be an expensive fix either.

my gas gauge didn't work either, all I had to do was buy a fuel float, it was only like $25 or so, very easy fix, if its the same situation in your case. When you go to look at it, ask to see if you can see inside the fuel baffle, if there is a float in it, then it could be the whole fuel float that has an issue.

yup usually the float is the problem. Open the VTS cover and see if water is still sitting in there
