What do you mean by shot? I'll have an extra set of carbs pretty soon for an XLT, and there are several other people here with sets for sale sometimes.

    01 1200xlt

Smitty, The carbs apparently digested some salt water before the ski was brought to me. I am trying to remove the 2 screws that attach the regulator body to the carb block. I have tried heat and penetrating oil. I have tried a handheld impact.Help.....Mark

If anyone has any more advice for him to help him unfreeze the screws, speak up.

Like I said, I'll have a good set for sale soon, after my new ones get "blackjacked".... or you can go to the classifieds here and ask if anyone has a set. Lots cheaper than buying new ones.

    Hey Mark,
I work for a subaru dealership and the techs have what they call an impact drive. This is a tool that has a phillips bit on the end of the tool and you hit the head of it with a hammer. As you hit the head it is turning ever so slightly to loosen the stuck screw.I'm not sure if you heard of this or even tried one but its worth a try.

    2001 1200xlt carbs

Thanks Partsdude. I too have this impact tool and after giving it a whack with a hammer the impact tool twisted the philips bit in 2. So I got a Dewalt bit for it and tried again. Once again twisted in 2.
Since then I drilled out the screw heads and found it to be quite ugly under the fuel reg. carbs need replacing. need used carbs!!
